Bringing you another oldie but goodie cookie recipe but with a twist. Made with blackstrap molasses, Chinese five spices and Canna butter all considered to be superfoods. Blackstrap molasses alone is enriched with iron, vitamin B6, calcium and magnesium.

Preheat oven 350f Ingredients/Directions

Edibles Dough

Step 1
Mix with a mixer separate from the dry ingredients
1 c. Butter or ½ butter and ½ c canna butter
¾ blackstrap molasses
1 tsp. Chinese five spice
½ tsp. Cinnamon
3 eggs
¾ c. white sugar
1 ¼ c. Brown sugar
Orange zest plus a small amount of juice

Mixing canna butter

Step 2
Mix Separately
½ tsp. Baking Powder
½ tsp. Baking Soda
½ tsp. Kosher Salt
1 Tbs. warm water

Step 3
3 c. Flour
Incorporate flour with all other ingredients

Step 4
Using an 1oz scoop and a silicone mat making cookie rounds and placing them on the silicone and baking for 15 minutes. Remove and place the cookies on a cooling rack then drizzle with royal icing.

Bake for 15 minutes

Royal icing

2 egg whites
½ tsp. Cream of Tatar
2 c. Powder sugar
1 tsp. Lemon juice

Whip egg whites adding Cream of Tatar until eggs show peaks then slowly adding powdered sugar and finishing off with lemon juice.
